Lautier Art and music were passions throughout my grandfather´s life. When after many years he got tired of following with camera and lenses revolutionary rebels, he took to building string instruments again. Among them one called “The violetta”, a musical instrument of the 16th century which is believed to have been similar to a violin, but with only three strings. I was named after it, Violeta with one T. I have never heard it played. I shall remember before I die.

From the brave grandfather in front of his volcano I inherited rebel blood and curiosity. It was then that without anyone noticing, I hid myself free in my refuge.

Next to my grandfather's volcano masterpiece there stood a solid easel, over it a canvas where my father, brushes and paint in hand was revealing in quiet devotion a furious sea. The wave hit a large rock with enormous force. The voluminous liquid mass seduced me. I could swim.

At an early age, seeking a language through which to communicate with the man of few words and son of the creative genius, I developed a passion for the visual arts and music.
